Are there any requirements for becoming a volunteer with UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice?
Volunteers are required to complete an application and have a successful background check after being interviewed and accepted. Depending on the department, completion of training is required before accepted. Hospice volunteers also need two negative TB tests within a 3 week period.
What types of volunteer work is available?
Volunteers support many of UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice’s programs and perform a wide range of jobs. We recommend you begin by looking at the volunteer program pages in the Program Volunteering section of this website. You can talk directly with a program manager, or contact our Human Resources department to discuss your questions about volunteering with UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice.
Does UVM Health Network – Home Health & Hospice provide training for volunteers?
Each program offers training for volunteers specific to the volunteer role in that program. Depending on the program, the training may be one-on-one with program staff or provided in a structured group setting. For example, Hospice Volunteers are required to complete a six week training program before being able to serve as a volunteer. This training is offered twice per year, in the Spring and Fall.
